Udaipur/Jaipur, On the birth anniversary of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap, a symbol of bravery, self-respect and patriotism of Mewar, on Jyeshtha Shukla Tritiya, the 57 feet tall grand sitting statue of Maharana Pratap was milk Abhishek amidst Vedic chanting at Pratap Gaurav Kendra Rashtriya Teerth in Udaipur on Thursday, in which hundreds of dignitaries were present.
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Madan Rathore, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Organiser magazine's editor-in-chief Prafull Ketkar, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, senior BJP leader Pramod Samar, Chandragupta Singh Chauhan, BJP city district president Gajpal Singh Rathore, former deputy mayor Paras Singhvi, Bharat Vikas Parishad 'Maharana Pratap', Jain Social Group and representatives of many organizations and dignitaries participated in this event.
While conducting the function, Pratap Gaurav Kendra Director Anurag Saxena presented the outline of the program. He said that this event is an effort to revive the memory of Pratap's valor and his unique dedication towards the motherland in the minds of the people.
Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Memorial Committee Chairman Prof. Bhagwati Prasad Sharma said in his welcome speech that Maharana Pratap's life was only 57 years, but the valor and self-respect that was inherent in him will remain a source of inspiration for ages. With this idea in mind, a 57 feet high statue has been built, which is not only a symbol of his bravery, but also inspires every Indian to live with courage and self-respect.
Chief guest Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vasudev Devnani said that it is his good fortune that while being the Education Minister, he got the concept of 'Akbar the Great' removed from the history books and included the glorious story of Maharana Pratap. He said that Maharana Pratap is not only the pride of Mewar, but of the entire India, who struggled for independence throughout his life.
On this occasion, the committee's treasurer Ashok Purohit, vice-president Dr. M.M. Tank, Subhash Bhargava, convener CA Mahavir Chaplot, co-convener Prof. Anil Kothari, Dr. Suhas Manohar and many social workers were present.
The milk bath done on the grand statue of Maharana Pratap filled the entire atmosphere with bravery, devotion and patriotism. During this time the campus echoed with the chants of Eklingnath and Maharana Pratap.
