Two Villages in Rajasthan Receive Silver and Bronze Awards on World Tourism Day

New Delhi: On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the villages of Meenal and Naurangabad in Rajasthan were honored with the Silver and Bronze awards in the category of Rural Tourism Village Awards by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. These awards were presented to recognize and promote the cultural heritage and sustainable development of rural areas through tourism.

The ceremony, held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Wednesday, saw the participation of 35 rural tourism villages from across the country. Meenal village in Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan, was conferred with the Silver award, while Naurangabad village in Alwar district, Rajasthan, received the Bronze award. The awards were presented by Mr. Rakesh Kumar Varma, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, along with Mr. Pawan Kumar Jain, Joint Director of Rajasthan Tourism Department.

Also present at the event were Dr. Deepali Sharma, Deputy Director of the Tourist Welcome Center, New Delhi, and Mr. Chhatrapal Yadav, Assistant Director of the same center.

These awards recognize the efforts of rural communities in Rajasthan in preserving their cultural heritage and promoting sustainable development through tourism, contributing to the growth of rural tourism in the region.
