“Service is a Duty, Not Favour” – Governor Kataria at Udaipur Chess Event

Udaipur: Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria emphasized that service to the needy should never be missed when given by divine will. Speaking at the inauguration of a three-day Rajasthan State-level Chess Tournament for the Visually Impaired, organized by Samidha Drishti-Divyanga Mission at Kisan Bhawan, he said that service should be seen as a duty, not charity.

Kataria praised Dr. Chandragupt Singh Chauhan’s efforts for visually impaired students and supported the urgent need for a hostel for visually impaired girls in Udaipur, suggesting land be allotted at the university campus. He assured that funding, even in crores, will be arranged.

Tribal Welfare Minister Babulal Kharadi and MLA Shrichand Kriplani also assured full support for the hostel. Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat pledged ₹30 lakh from his MP fund, while MLA Tarachand Jain announced ₹20 lakh from his MLA fund, inspired by the Governor.

Mission Secretary Nanalal Baya shared the event’s objectives and ongoing efforts for visually impaired children.
