#### Mahesh Navami Mahotsav 2025: A Night of Roars and Laughter

The Mahesh Navami Mahotsav – 2025, organized by Nagar Maheshwari Yuva Sangathan, Udaipur, became a laughter-filled evening as a Laughter Night was held on Saturday at the Sukhadia Auditorium. The packed hall echoed with applause, whistles, and nonstop laughter as poets delivered comic verses filled with satire, social commentary, and day-to-day humour.

Abhishek Chhachhani, Vice President of the organization, said that several renowned poets from across the country captivated the audience with their entertaining verses late into the night. The event commenced with a ceremonial welcome of the poets by distinguished guests including Nirmala-Gopal Kabra, Rekha-Ramesh Asawa, Premlata-Dileep Mundra, Vimala-Ashok Baheti, Jatan-Narayan Asawa, and Pushpa-Ladulal Mundra, along with Sangathan office bearers.

According to Joint Secretary Shivam Mundra, the most awaited part of the evening came when Laughter King Suresh Albela took to the stage. Known for his unique style of comic delivery, he began with his signature line:

“Main aisi koi baat nahi karunga ki kisi ke dimaag par load pade.”

He continued with relatable anecdotes and quirky observations, such as:

“Corona ke baad ek saath itne zinda aadmi pehli baar dekh raha hoon.”
“Selfie lete waqt ladkiyon ka aur beedi peete waqt gaon ke dokron ka muh ek jaisa hota hai.”

His witty punches laced with political flavour and rural humour left the audience clapping and laughing uncontrollably.

The show was anchored by Udaipur’s national poet Rao Ajat Shatru, who not only introduced the guests but also entertained the audience with his poetic satire. One of his standout performances blended humour, politics, and religious sentiment:

“Khaugā na khāne dūngā,
Na kahin dabāne dūngā,
Bhaiyon aur behnon sunā kar mār ḍālūngā,
Vanvās bhej dūngā Rām ke virodhiyon ko,
Rām jī kā mandir banā ke mār ḍālūngā.”

The moment Shambhu Shikhar walked up to the mic with his towering presence, laughter filled the auditorium. Sharing a hilarious incident, he said:

“Hotel se baahar chai ki dukaan par ek biscuit kutte ko diya,
To usne ek minute mein 12 baar usko palta.*
Chai waale ko maine kaha – ye kaisa biscuit?*
Usne bataya – Patanjali ka hai.*
Tabhi to Anulom-Vilom, Surya Namaskaar, Kapalbhati sab karne laga!”*

Kanu Pandit, with his charming Mewari-Hindi-English blend, delivered a special poem for the occasion, drawing peals of laughter:

“Ajab, anokhi, alaukik, advitīya ek ghatna kā aaj main ullekh kar rahā hoon,
Yeh mat sochnā netāon ke jaise lambī-lambī bāten fek kar rahā hoon.*
Achānak Damru jab gunjā tribhuvan mein to sabko baḍā bechain dekh rahā hoon,*
Brahmā jī ne pūchhā Bholenāth jī se – ye kyā huā?*
Bholē bole – Damru ko check kar rahā hoon!”*

Govind Rathi, in his signature style, added to the humour with social jibes and marital satire:

“Mahilāen apne pati ko bhagwān māntī hain,
Lekin maza le ki koi dūsra pūjā kar de,*
To woh unki ārtī utār detī hain!”*

Throughout the night, the poets highlighted both male and female quirks, with the audience frequently erupting in spontaneous applause, laughter, and cheer. Whether it was gentle teasing on makeup or digs at political figures, the Laughter Night truly became the highlight of the Mahesh Navami Mahotsav 2025, leaving an imprint of joy on every heart.
