Youth to Learn Personality Traits from Elders, Gain from Their Experience

In an effort to foster service values among the youth and to connect them with the elderly, Time Bank of India has launched an 8-week internship program. Under this initiative, young students will spend time with senior citizens, learning from their experiences and gaining valuable insights into personality development.

Ashok Jain, a member of the Governing Council of Time Bank of India, shared that 44 students from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies will undergo this internship across various cities including Udaipur. The goal is to create a meaningful interaction where youth gain from the wisdom of seniors while offering their companionship in return.

On June 2, the national online orientation program of this initiative was conducted under the leadership of Time Bank of India, Jaipur. Participants from Udaipur included City Admin K.K. Sharma, Admin A.K. Gupta, Governing Council Member M.K. Mathur, and intern Lakshita Devpura, who gathered key insights and planned upcoming activities.

Professor Vimal Sharma, Media Incharge, concluded the orientation with a firm resolve to further strengthen the initiative.

Time Bank President Shailendra Tandon highlighted that the organization works nationwide, setting aside caste, religion, gender, and economic status to focus solely on free service to the elderly.

Internship Course Coordinator Retd. IAS Dr. Rekha Gupta explained that the training has been designed to support holistic personality development. Daily tasks have been outlined, and interns will present their progress on the fifth day. Based on mentor reviews, tasks for the next week will be assigned.

Co-founder and Managing Trustee Anil Khosla encouraged interns to make full use of the opportunity and urged mentors to leverage the youth’s technical knowledge to train elderly members in WhatsApp usage, cyber safety, and mobile apps.

State Coordinators Er. S.R. Bansal, B.L. Verma, M.K. Mathur, I.D. Singh, and O.P. Gupta also addressed the interns, offering vital information to aid their journey.
