Udaipur, On the auspicious occasion of the 2624th birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir Swami, a cultural evening was held yesterday at the premises of Vidya Niketan, Sector-4, Hiran Magri, organized by the Mahavir Jain Jagruti Parishad. Various women's groups from the Jain community came together to deliver captivating performances based on devotional songs, dance dramas, and Jain values. This was the second grand event of such scale witnessed in this suburban area.
Participants were honored by the Parishad with mementos for their outstanding performances. Songs like Navkar Mantra, Baje Re Dhol, 16 Dreams of Trishala Mata, and the birth of Veer Mata moved the audience, while the spectators responded with enthusiastic applause and remained engaged till the end. The event was beautifully anchored by CA Pritesh Jain and Dr. Sonika Jain, while Dinesh Nandawat delivered the vote of thanks.
Grand Rally Tomorrow Morning
Parishad's Core Committee Member Dr. Himmat Lal Vaya informed that the main celebration will be held tomorrow, April 10, with a majestic procession and vehicle rally starting at 8 AM from Vidya Niketan School. More than 1008 vehicles are expected to participate, spreading the principles of Lord Mahavir through various city routes before returning to the starting point.
Bhamashah Felicitation Ceremony Also Tomorrow
Following the rally, a felicitation ceremony for distinguished guests and donors (Bhamashahs) will be organized at the same venue. The Chief Guest will be His Excellency Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab & Chandigarh. The Special Guests include Gautam Dak, Minister of Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Rajasthan Government; Paras Singhvi, former Deputy Mayor of Udaipur Municipal Corporation; and Vinod Kanthaliya, Chairman of Bari Sadri Municipality.
Parishad’s Future Plans Outlined
Core Committee Members R.C. Mehta and Sushil Banthia shared the Parishad’s upcoming initiatives, including an introductory meet for unmarried youths, religious assemblies, pre- and post-marriage counseling, devotional evenings, a daycare center for senior citizens, financial aid for the needy, and uniform Jain symbolic nameplates for every household in the community.
