In preparation for the upcoming Save Constitution Rally scheduled on May 31 in Kota, senior Congress leader and former MLA Prahlad Gunjal visited the Dadhich Marriage Garden near Akashvani. He was accompanied by Congress Kota City President Ravindra Tyagi and District Rural Congress President Bhanu Pratap Singh, as they jointly inspected the venue.
Gunjal stated that several key leaders including State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully will be present at the rally. He emphasized that Congress workers are actively preparing for the event with full enthusiasm. Gunjal further alleged that the Central Government and associated agencies are violating constitutional traditions, causing widespread public discontent. He asserted that Congress, through such rallies, is striving to ensure that no authority undermines the constitutional framework of the nation.
City President Ravindra Tyagi remarked that constitutional institutions are being misused by the BJP government, turning them into political tools. He mentioned that the Congress national leadership has launched the Save Constitution campaign to awaken the public across the country. He also highlighted that although the Modi government has announced caste-based census in response to Rahul Gandhi’s demand, the party will further seek a specific timeline for its commencement during the rally.
Rural President Bhanu Pratap Singh shared that there is considerable excitement in the rural areas, with party workers holding meetings in villages and hamlets to mobilize public participation. He expressed confidence that the Kota rally will be a historic event.
Among those present were Mahendra Rajoria (former assembly candidate from Ramganjmandi), Kota Rural District In-charge Harishankar Mewara, District General Secretaries Vijay Gupta and Prashant Saxena, Rajendra Bhardwaj, and Manish Sharma, along with several Congress workers.
