Record Ticket Bookings via Mobile App in April

*Kota:* The railway service has expanded its reach by facilitating online ticket booking through the UTS mobile app. Spearheaded by Mahaprabandhak Shrimati Shobhana Bandopadhyay and under the direction of Chief Commercial Managers of all three divisions of the Western Central Railway, an awareness campaign has been launched. As a result, in April 2024, a total of 72,396 tickets were booked via the UTS app, facilitating travel for 4,91,735 passengers, generating revenue of Rs. 82,76,485 for the railways.

To alleviate long queues at stations, the railway has initiated the UTS On Mobile app service. This service is now available for online general ticket booking at all stations of the Western Central Railway. The popularity of this app among passengers has led to a significant increase in the number of unreserved tickets being booked.

In the Jabalpur division, a total of 21,853 tickets were booked, enabling travel for 2,48,860 passengers, resulting in revenue of Rs. 29,73,180 for the railways.

In the Bhopal division, 21,295 tickets were booked, facilitating travel for 1,39,227 passengers, generating revenue of Rs. 26,03,005.

In the Kota division, 29,248 tickets were booked, facilitating travel for 1,03,648 passengers, resulting in revenue of Rs. 27,00,000.

The UTS On Mobile application is available on both Android and iOS platforms, allowing users to book tickets on their mobile phones. Users need to download the app from the Play Store or App Store and register by providing details such as mobile number, name, password, gender, date of birth, and identification document. After registration, users can book unreserved tickets through the app.

The use of the UTS On Mobile app not only encourages passengers to opt for self-ticketing but also reduces the need for standing in queue for counter tickets. For any information related to this app, passengers can contact the railway helpline number 139.

Railway administration urges passengers traveling on unreserved tickets to promote the use of the UTS mobile app and take advantage of its benefits.
