The 29th Sindhu Darshan Yatra, to be held in Leh-Ladakh, is once again set to revive the spirit of national unity, cultural pride, and patriotism. This sacred journey will witness the participation of around 3,000 devotees from various states of India, who will gather on the banks of the Sindhu (Indus) River to celebrate the message of unity in diversity and spiritual faith.
Background:
The Sindhu Darshan Yatra began in 1997 under the guidance of Ladakhi MP Shri Thupstan Chhewang and Lal Krishna Advani. The aim of the yatra was to remind Indian citizens that the Sindhu River—an essential part of India’s cultural and historical identity—still flows proudly within India, particularly through the region of Ladakh.
This pilgrimage holds not just religious significance but also serves as a tribute to India’s cultural heritage, national pride, and the sacrifices of our armed forces in the Himalayan region. Devotees participate in the yatra carrying the national flag, offer prayers at the Sindhu River, and seek peace and prosperity for the nation.
Highlights of This Year’s Yatra:
Over 3,000 pilgrims will join from across the country.
Cultural events, flag hoisting ceremonies, and tributes to soldiers will be organized.
Support from the Leh administration, Indian Army, and social organizations is contributing to the successful execution of the event.
Words from the Organizers:
State Vice President Raman Sud emphasized that this is not just a religious journey but a powerful expression of every Indian’s dedication and pride towards the nation.
State General Secretary Arvind Jaroli added that the yatra reconnects us with our roots and reinforces the spirit of national unity.
