Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a series of key meetings in New Delhi on Thursday, including with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, as well as several other Union ministers. He extended congratulations to Shah on the historic success of Operation Sindoor, lauding the Indian Armed Forces for their victory against terrorism.
During the meeting, CM Sharma briefed Amit Shah on progress in Rajasthan’s cooperative sector, highlighting initiatives like PACS computerization, the "Mharo Khato Mharo Bank" scheme, the Gopal Credit Card Yojana, and the Sahakar Se Samriddhi Abhiyan. He also invited Shah to the upcoming Cooperative Conference to be held in Rajasthan as part of the International Year of Cooperatives and expressed gratitude for the Centre’s support in launching 54 cooperative initiatives.
In another significant meeting, CM Sharma met Union Housing & Urban Affairs and Energy Minister Manohar Lal. The two discussed drainage development, drinking water supply, metro expansion, and improving urban transport facilities in Rajasthan. CM Sharma urged approval for the second phase of Jaipur Metro under a joint venture model and requested early release of central assistance.
Additionally, Sharma sought approval for a ₹1,368 crore DPR under the RDSS project for daytime electricity supply to agricultural consumers via Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JdVVNL). He also requested expedited implementation of 115 GW energy projects and development of transmission infrastructure to harness an additional 50 GW of renewable energy in the state. He appealed for coordination between CTUIL, CEA, MNRE, and related agencies to prioritize necessary actions.
In a marathon day of meetings, CM Sharma also met Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Discussions focused on expanding Rajasthan’s railway network for industrial and citizen convenience, boosting digital connectivity, and promoting innovation in media and broadcasting.
Further, Sharma met Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy, where topics included sustainable mineral development, investment opportunities, infrastructure upgrades, and coal supply for power plants.
These high-level engagements reflect Rajasthan’s strong push toward development across cooperation, urban infrastructure, energy, transport, and mineral sectors, with a focus on Centre-State collaboration.
