Haldighati

Haldighati is a historical place where battle was fought between Maharana Pratap and Akbar in 1576. It is located 40 Km. away from Udaipur. Here, we can see a smarak in form of a Chattri which is dedicated to the Loyal horse of Pratap, Chetak. The horse, Chetak had sacrificed it's life to save Pratap in battle. On the hill top, has been made a museum which was erected by retired teacher, Mohan lal Shrimali. In the museum has been show cased the statues, models, Jhankiyan and pictures of which are dedicated to Pratap's life and incidents.

Here is a small theater a film on Rana Pratap's life has been shown to visitors.We can see the soil that is yellow in colour. Due to it's colour, the place got it's name, "Haldi ghati".
