#### Rotary Club Uday Organizes Vocational & Journalism Award Ceremony

Udaipur: Rotary Club Uday hosted its Vocational Award Ceremony 2025-26 at the Oriental Palace Resort, Udaipur, under the theme “Sutradhar – Journalism Awards.” The event recognized 27 journalists from print, electronic, and digital media for their exemplary contributions in bringing societal change, addressing public issues, and promoting social awareness through their institutions.

The ceremony’s chief guest, retired Chief Conservator of Forests Rahul Bhatnagar, along with special guest Assistant Governor Rajesh Chugh, club advisor Dr. Seema Singh, and Aniket Sharma, Director of Narmada Foods, graced the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Rahul Bhatnagar highlighted the role of community efforts in enhancing city beauty and tourism, citing Japan as an example. He suggested planting Palash trees in Udaipur to boost both aesthetics and tourism. He also emphasized the challenging nature of journalism, stating that a journalist plays a pivotal role in creating awareness, bringing societal change, and communicating truth to the public, which is why journalism continues to earn society’s trust.

Dr. Seema Singh reflected on her career, emphasizing the influential role of print media in promoting truth and positive societal messages. She encouraged the youth to use social media responsibly for constructive purposes, and stressed that AI should be harnessed for positive change.

Aniket Sharma added that journalists serve as vigilant guardians of truth, and their words cannot be easily disputed.

At the outset, Rotary Club President Raghav Bhatnagar spoke about the 14-year legacy of Rotary Club Uday and the importance of trust, honesty, and purpose in all actions. He urged members to ensure that their work benefits society, emphasizing evaluation and sincerity before taking action.

The ceremony began with lamp lighting, followed by prayers by Rotarian Shalini Bhatnagar and Rotary Four-Way Test presentation by Puneet Gakhreja. Ritu Vaishnav conducted the program.

Awardees, including Pankaj Vaishnav, Kailash Sankhla, Bharat Sharma, Rajendra Singh Jhala, Manish Joshi, Krishn Gopal Vaishnav, Rajesh Verma, Rakesh Sharma, Rajdeep, Sanjay Khabya, Bhupendra Chaubisa, Aamir Mohammad Sheikh, Chetan Vyas, Mohsina Banu, Sunil Gothwal, Rimjhim Sharma, Gopal Lohar, Kuldeep Singh Gehlot, Anand Sharma, Viplav Kumar Jain, Ramsingh Chandana, Anup Parashar, Dinesh Gothwal, RJ Arpit, RJ Samay, Mahendra Singh Rathore, Vikas Mali, Sunil Kalra, and Laxman Ko—were felicitated with shawls and mementos by the dignitaries.

Seven new membersAshwarya Singh, Shamil Sheikh, Aniket Sharma, Vatsala Singh, Piyush Bansal, Jitendra Shastri, and Dr. Bharat Jain—were also formally inducted during the event.

The program was attended by prominent members including Ashok Virwal, Dr. Anita Morya, Sakshi Dodeja, Karan Garg, Sunil Mathur, Piyush Bansal, and Gajendra Chundawat, marking a successful celebration of journalism, societal contribution, and Rotary’s community service initiatives.
