Quality Circle Convention Concludes in Udaipur with the Theme “Self-Reliant Developed India”

Udaipur. The Rajsamand Chapter of the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) successfully organized its two-day 24th Chapter Convention at the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce auditorium under the theme “Self-Reliant Developed India.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 372 delegates representing 103 teams from 17 reputed institutions across the country, who showcased their outstanding efforts in industrial quality improvement and innovation.

Focus on Quality Culture and Continuous Improvement

The objective of the convention was to promote a culture of quality in industry, inspire employees towards continuous improvement, and highlight the practical application of tools such as Quality Circles, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, and Safety Circles. Teams presented their case studies demonstrating how small improvements can lead to significant outcomes—whether in reducing waste, enhancing energy efficiency, or strengthening workplace safety.

Wide Institutional Participation

Active participation came from several leading organizations including:

  • Secure Meters, Udaipur – 17 teams

  • JK Tyres & Industries – 11 teams

  • Hindustan Zinc Ltd. – 46 teams (the highest)

  • NTPC – 5 teams

  • JK Lakshmi Cement (Dabok) – 2 teams

  • Dharoher – 2 teams

  • JK Lakshmi Cement (Sirohi) – 7 teams

  • Lakshmipat School, Sirohi – 2 teams

  • NLC Ltd., Bikaner – 2 teams

  • National Fertilizers Ltd. – 5 teams

  • JS Energy Ltd., Barmer – 6 teams

  • RSWM Ltd. – 1 team

  • Bharat Electronics – 1 team

Key Highlights from the Dignitaries

  • Mr. Avinash Upadhyay, Director, QCFI North India, said:
    “This convention resonates with the Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The real strength of any nation lies not just in its resources but in its quality mindset. In today’s competitive global era, it is only quality that gives us a distinct identity.”

  • Mr. Manish Galundia, President, Udaipur Chamber of Commerce, stated:
    “The participation of 103 teams proves that quality is no longer confined to management but has reached every level of an organization. A single innovative idea from an employee can save millions, prevent accidents, and ensure customer satisfaction.”

  • Mr. Mohammad Rafi from Secure Meters highlighted that Quality Circles and Lean tools are not just problem-solving mechanisms anymore, but also pathways to creativity and innovation.

  • Mr. Rajesh Keswani, Unit Head, JK Lakshmi Cement, Sirohi, remarked:
    “Quality Circles are not limited to production improvements but also empower employees and infuse new energy into organizations.”

  • Mr. Rajeev Pandya, CHRO, Geetanjali Group, added:
    “The true strength of any organization lies in its people. Quality Circles give employees a platform to enhance their capabilities and bring excellence to their work.”

  • Mr. Mukul Jain, Plant Head, JK Tyre, Kankroli, said:
    “Small improvements can bring remarkable results. The participation of educational institutions like Lakshmipat School demonstrates that collaboration between education and industry is the true strength of the future.”

Recognition and Awards

Teams used charts, models, and multimedia to present their achievements, which were highly appreciated by judges and the audience. Based on criteria such as innovation, tangible results, and presentation skills, 98 Gold medals and 5 Silver medals were awarded during the closing ceremony.

Credit for Success

The success of the convention was credited to the collective efforts of the QCFI Rajsamand Chapter team led by Chairman Dr. Narendra Kumar Sharma, Secretary Mr. S.K. Jagasia, and members including Mr. Dinesh Paneri, Mr. Arvind Pemawat, Mr. Ramesh Suthar, Mr. Ajay Nagar, Mr. Malay Gordia, Dr. Mahima Birla, Mr. Narayan Mali, Mr. Yajuvendra Shrivastava, Mrs. Durga Sharma, Dr. Sanya Sharma, Mr. Manoj Joshi, Mr. Rajeev Bhatnagar, and Mr. Vinod Purohit.

The two-day convention was not merely a competition but a celebration of ideas and innovation. The experiences and lessons shared during the sessions are expected to not only benefit participating organizations but also contribute significantly to India’s journey towards self-reliance and development.
