Saree: The Proud Identity of Indian Women – Udaipur Saree Festival Concludes with Grandeur
Udaipur: The vibrant Udaipur Saree Festival, organized by She Circle India under the theme “Saree: The Identity of Indian Women,” concluded in a colorful ceremony at Central Public School.
Founder Tarika Bhanupratap shared that this festival has been organized for the fifth consecutive year. The primary aim of the event was to revive the saree as a symbol of elegance in Indian society and to encourage women to embrace it during festivals and celebrations. Alka Sharma, Director of Central Public School, expressed, “When an Indian woman dons a saree anywhere in the world, she needs no other identity.”
The program was graced by prominent guests including Alka Sharma, Dr. Sweety Chhabra, Shraddha Gattani, and Madhu Sareen. Special guests like Rukhsana Sabunwala (D Plus Shandar), Sonu Jain (Swarn Silver), Harleen Kaur (Geetanjali Medical College), and SBI Bank representatives added to the event’s grandeur.
The festival received exceptional support from institutions such as Rotary Club Pannadhay, Rotary Club Mira, Indian Bank, and Lauret High School. Present at the event were Rotary Pannadhay President Surabhi Khatri, Rotary Mira President Rekha Soni, and Kate Women Wing President Vijayalakshmi Galudiya.
The judging panel included Shalini Bhatnagar, Monica Mewada, Navneet Kaur Chhabra, Harleen Kaur, Vaishali Motwani, and Vasudhamani. City-based organizations and individuals played a key role in the success of the festival, notably Principal Deepika Poonam Rathore (Central Public School), Guneet Monga (Dynamic Yoga Studio), and Dr. Baldeep Sharma.

Creative Saree Queen: 1st – Priya Sahu, 2nd – Reshma
Best Saree Pair: 1st – Dr. Chetna Chaudhary & Alka Chaudhary, 2nd – Sunita Lalwani & Vimala Arya
Regional Saree Queen: 1st – Anju Purohit, 2nd – Shweta Chandalia
Best Hair & Makeup Saree Queen: 1st – Priya Sahu, 2nd – Dr. Urmila Jain Mandawat
Best Saree Group: 1st – Geetanjali Hospital Female Doctors Group, 2nd – Kate Women Wing Udaipur
Best Walk Saree Queen: 1st – Anju Purohit, 2nd – Priyanka Bhatt
Mother-Daughter Special: 1st – Riya Dembla & Jenisha Khatri
The festival successfully celebrated the elegance and cultural pride associated with the saree, reinforcing it as an enduring symbol of Indian womanhood.
