#### Smiles Lit Up as Children Received Spectacles – R-CAG Brought Vision to the Underprivileged

Udaipur,  A remarkable transformation unfolded today at Gayatri Seva Sansthan’s Vivekanand Auditorium, Hiran Magri Sector 6, Udaipur, when underprivileged children from the Kalbelia settlement of Leelawas village in Jhadol subdivision were gifted corrective spectacles. The initiative was spearheaded by Rajasthan Child Advisory Group (R-CAG } after the dire condition of children in the settlement had come to light during a recent field visit.

The Kalbelia families of Leelawas, traditionally engaged in rag-picking and recycling, have long contributed silently to community cleanliness and environmental preservation. Yet, they face acute socio-economic hardships such as food scarcity, malnutrition, illiteracy, and lack of medical facilities for vision-impaired children. R-CAG  after flagging these issues before government authorities, pledged to extend every possible support for the holistic welfare of children.

Spectacles Distribution with Medical Guidance
Children identified with vision impairment were earlier examined at Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, Udaipur. Based on specialist advice, customized spectacles were prepared and distributed today with the support of philanthropists. The joy on children’s faces, especially little Khushi who hugged her father in delight after wearing her spectacles for the first time, became the highlight of the event.

R-KEG’s Commitment
R-CAG President and social activist Chandra Gupta Singh Chauhan shared that during his earlier visit, several grave issues were identified. Following discussions with ministers and senior officials, the village was assured a new Maa-Badi centre while children underwent medical check-ups at Udaipur. He affirmed that  R-CAG will continue follow-up until every child is successfully integrated into mainstream education and care.

Dr. Shailendra Pandya, R-CAG General Secretary and former member of the Rajasthan State Child Commission, explained that medical experts had recommended specialized spectacles to address vision impairment. With government hospitals unable to provide them, philanthropists Dr. Rahul Vyas, Himmat Soni, and Prem Charan came forward to ensure availability.

Philanthropic Support
Philanthropist Himmat Soni applauded R-CAG s initiative and announced free eye check-ups and spectacles for 100 more children.

Community Participation
The distribution program witnessed the presence of R-CAG office-bearers and social activists Pradeep Rawani, Sunita Rathore (Samidha Sansthan), Ashok Malviya (Research Officer), Kuntal Joshi, Sunil Paliwal, Aarogya Shekhar Vyas, Arun Sharma, Dilip Damami, Madan Lal, along with Gayatri Seva Sansthan representatives Nitin Paliwal and Ashita Jain, besides many parents of the children.

With renewed hope and smiles behind their spectacles, the Kalbelia children of Leelawas village are now one step closer to a brighter and inclusive future.
