#### MPUAT Tops Among State-Funded Universities in NIRF Ranking 2025

Udaipur, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur has once again brought laurels to Rajasthan by securing the first position among state-funded universities in the state in the recently announced National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025.

Director of Planning and Monitoring, Dr. Sunil Joshi, informed that the NIRF framework was initiated by the Ministry of Education in 2015 to assess higher education institutions on five parameters:

Teaching, Learning & Resources (30%)

Research & Professional Practices (30%)

Graduation Outcomes (20%)

Outreach & Inclusivity (10%)

Peer Perception (10%)

On this basis, MPUAT has been ranked in the 51–100 band nationally, while emerging as the top state-funded university in Rajasthan.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka congratulated the university fraternity and attributed this achievement to excellence in the three pillars—teaching, research, and extension. He said,
“This recognition is the result of the relentless efforts of our faculty, scientists, researchers, and students. With high-quality research outputs, MPUAT has achieved a Scopus Index of 81 and a Google H-index of 84.”

Highlighting other achievements, he added—

The university has consistently received the Chancellor’s Award under the Governor’s Smart Village Initiative.

In the last three years, MPUAT has filed 43 patents and signed 33 MoUs with reputed national and international institutions.

It is the first university in India to implement ICAR’s 6th Dean Committee recommendations under the New Education Policy.

Its Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Directorate of Extension Education, and several laboratories are ISO certified.

Through solar energy initiatives, the university saves nearly ₹1.46 crore annually in electricity, showcasing its commitment to sustainability.

A total of 71 students and 11 faculty members have received advanced training at globally renowned institutions.

Dr. Ajeet Kumar concluded by expressing confidence that MPUAT will further enhance its excellence and strive to be ranked among the top universities in the country in the coming years.
