#### Dr. Vimla Bhandari Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award in Bhutan on Hindi Diwas

Kota,  On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, renowned litterateur from Salumbar, Rajasthan, Dr. Vimla Bhandari was conferred with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 for her outstanding contribution to literature. The award was presented during the “Bhutan-India Literature Festival” held in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, on September 14. The honor included a traditional angavastram, a citation, and a commemorative memento, presented by Krantidhara Academy.

Special Address on Children’s Literature

As the distinguished guest of the festival’s inaugural session, Dr. Bhandari emphasized the vital role of children’s literature in the promotion and dissemination of Hindi. She highlighted how children’s literature not only nurtures linguistic skills in the younger generation but also acts as a carrier of cultural values and traditions, ensuring the preservation of India’s literary heritage.

Hindi on the Global Stage

The session was chaired by senior literary figure Rajendra Mohan Sharma, who noted that the celebration of Hindi Diwas has transcended national boundaries and is now flourishing at the international level. He further remarked that Hindi has emerged as a unifying force of national integration while simultaneously creating new avenues of employment and innovation for youth, aided by technology.

Distinguished Guests and Wide Participation

The chief guest of the occasion was the Deputy High Commissioner of the Government of Bhutan, while Moscow-based Indian-origin author Dr. Shweta Uma also graced the event.

Expressing gratitude, Vijay Pandit, President of Krantidhara Academy and convener of the festival, thanked the Bhutanese government and the large gathering of authors for their enthusiastic participation. Prominent Bhutanese author Sita Rahu along with over 100 writers from India and Bhutan were present at the event.

Two-Day Festival with Rich Literary Showcases

The two-day festival witnessed a wide range of literary activities, including poetry recitals, short story readings, dramatic storytelling, and the staging of the mythological narrative of Ram, Lakshman, and Shabari. Excerpts from novels were presented, while Bhutanese youth actively participated by performing poetry recitations, adding vibrancy to the event.

The honor bestowed upon Dr. Vimla Bhandari marks not just personal recognition of her literary journey but also symbolizes the growing global resonance of Hindi literature. It stands as a matter of pride for Rajasthan and for India as a whole.
