Full Waiver on Interest and Penalty in Revenue Arrears
Excise Amnesty Scheme 2025 Announced
Udaipur, The Excise Department has initiated the Excise Amnesty Scheme 2025 to ensure quick settlement of old revenue arrears. Under this scheme, defaulters are being offered complete waiver of interest and penalty upon depositing the principal arrears.
Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate informed that the scheme provides an easy opportunity for defaulters to clear their long-pending dues. The scheme will remain open till 30 September 2025 and will cover all excise revenue arrears outstanding as of 31 March 2022 or earlier. It will also include those cases where demand orders were issued on or after 1 April 2022 but relate to arrears pertaining to the period up to 31 March 2022.
According to the Commissioner, for arrears outstanding up to 31 March 2020, defaulters depositing the principal amount by the last date of the scheme will receive 100% waiver on interest and penalty. For arrears between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2022, a full waiver on penalty and 50% concession on payable interest will be granted on depositing the principal.
Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat stated that by availing this scheme, defaulters can avoid unnecessary property auctions, attachments, and litigations. For detailed information and settlement of arrears, individuals may contact the respective Additional Excise Commissioner Zone, District Excise Officer, or Excise Inspector.
