Jaipur. Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani, while concluding the fourth session of the sixteenth Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in the House on Wednesday, said that he is committed to maintain the dignity of the post of Speaker. He said that he has never come under pressure nor will he come. He said that the security of the House is important. Effective steps are necessary for this. Shri Devnani said that when the Leader of the House, Leader of the Opposition and the Speaker stand up to speak in the House, then it has been a tradition for all the members to listen to them peacefully. Expressing his pain, Shri Devnani said that on Wednesday, the traditions of the House were violated by the opposition, which is very sad.
*Violation of old traditions of the House -* Shri Devnani expressed his pain and said that due to the non-cooperation of the opposition, an impossible attempt was made to stop the government which is ready to work for the interests of 8 crore people of the state. Shri Devnani said that this has affected the process of objective discussion in the House to benefit the common people. He said that this has violated the old rich historical traditions of the House. From the beginning of the session, the opposition members adopted a non-cooperative attitude. He said that during the proceedings of the House, the opposition continuously obstructed the smooth functioning of the House by interruption, noise, gathering in the House well and raising slogans and demonstrations etc.
*Opposition is not concerned with the pain and suffering of common people and development of the state -* Speaker Shri Devnani said that the Leader of Opposition and some other senior members of the Opposition, from time to time, by making a ruckus and demonstrating in and outside the House by giving importance to unimportant issues, it seems that they are not concerned with the pain and suffering of common people and development of the state. Shri Devnani said that by such demonstrations, it seems that perhaps they are only concerned about coverage in newspapers and media.
*Important parliamentary work done despite the non-cooperative attitude of the opposition -* Shri Devnani said that despite the non-cooperative attitude of the opposition, 10 bills including important bills were passed by the House in the current session and along with this other important parliamentary work was also done.
*All efforts made by Shri Devnani to run the House -* Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani made tireless efforts to run the House. He also made all efforts to convince the members of the opposition in a cordial atmosphere by calling them to his chamber. Shri Devnani also listened to the opposition's arguments patiently. Shri Devnani also responded in detail to every point of every issue raised by the opposition delegation during several rounds of talks with them.
