New Delhi. Prof. Amarika Singh, former Vice-Chancellor and Chairperson of RDJS & Navneet Group of Institutions, Uttar Pradesh, met Joint Secretary Dr. Alok Mishra in New Delhi. On this occasion, Prof. S.V. Halse, Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Open University, Mysore, was also present. Both dignitaries were felicitated during the meeting.
The discussions focused on critical issues such as the direction of national development, investment policies, skill development, and the creation of short-term courses for youth. Special emphasis was laid on developing modular courses aligned with the Agniveer scheme to empower young people and make them self-reliant.
It was mutually agreed that universities should design curricula that would reflect India’s comprehensive educational framework by 2030 and contribute towards positioning India among developed nations by 2047.
The meeting also highlighted the need for universities to make continuous efforts to bring marginalized sections into the mainstream, thereby enabling social and economic progress through education.
Prof. Amarika Singh stated that India’s economy is primarily agriculture-driven and the country has a large youth population. Hence, courses should be designed in a way that students can excel not only within the country but also on global platforms.
