Udaipur, The five-day residential training program for Krishi Sakhis under the National Natural Farming Mission commenced on Wednesday at Vidya Bhawan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Badgaon. The program was inaugurated by Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat as chief guest, with Dr. J.P. Mishra, Director of Attri Jodhpur, as the special guest. The training, organized with the support of the Agriculture Department, will run until August 31, with 50 Krishi Sakhis from Udaipur district participating.
Message by the Chief Guest
Addressing the gathering, MP Dr. Rawat emphasized that protecting Gau Mata (Mother Cow) and Dharti Mata (Mother Earth) is essential for ensuring environmental balance and human health. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Natural Farming Mission to encourage such sustainable practices. He urged Krishi Sakhis to learn natural farming thoroughly, both theoretically and practically, so they can spread its benefits to other farmers.
Expert Insights on Natural Farming
Dr. Mishra highlighted the objectives, pillars, and necessity of natural farming, stressing that bringing it to ground level is a challenge requiring active promotion. Senior Scientist and Head of the institute, Dr. P.C. Bhatnagar, provided details of the training program and shared previous initiatives undertaken by the center. Additional Director of Agriculture, Niranjan Singh Rathore, encouraged scaling up natural farming practices, while social worker Deepak Sharma underlined its role in fulfilling the vision of the Prime Minister.
Training Details and Components
Joint Director of Agriculture Extension, Sudhir Verma, spoke about the harmful impacts of chemical-based farming and the need to replace it with cow-based natural inputs. Nodal Officer Dr. Bhagwat Singh Chauhan explained that the training will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of key components such as Beejamrit, Jeevamrit, Ghan Jeevamrit, Agniastra, Brahmastra, Neemastra, and Dashparni Ark. The 50 trained Sakhis will in turn train 125 farmers each, aiming to ensure safe and nutritious food.
Ceremonial Activities
The program also featured Gau Pujan (cow worship) and tree plantation. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Bhagwat Singh, while Dr. Deepak Jain proposed the vote of thanks.
