#### Sixteenth National Children’s Literature Conference Held in Udaipur
“The child within you keeps you alive” – Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak
Udaipur.Dedicated to literature and culture, Salila Sanstha in association with Rajasthan Sahitya Academy organized the 16th National Children’s Literature Conference with grandeur at the auditorium of the Directorate of Extension Education.
The inaugural session “Udgahatan, Lokarpan evam Samman” was presided over by Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak, Vice Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology. Known for his deep engagement with both academic and literary pursuits, Dr. Karnatak has consistently championed the role of literature in nurturing young minds. His scholarly work is marked by a balanced perspective where science, language, and culture converge, making his presence at a children’s literary conference especially meaningful.
The chief guest was Jayanti Ranganathan (Editor, Nandan and Executive Editor, Hindustan Group). Distinguished guests Dr. Satish Kumar, Shyam Palat Pandey, Kumud Verma, and institution chairperson and convenor Dr. Vimala Bhandari graced the dais.
The ceremony commenced with deep prajwalan before Maa Sharda, followed by Saraswati Vandana by Shakuntala Swaroopariya. The Sanstha Geet was rendered by Deepa Panth, the Swagat Geet by Madhu Maheshwari, and a Bal Geet by Pakhi Jain. Dr. Vimala Bhandari introduced the theme of the session.
On this occasion, Dr. Bhandari’s book “America Se Mulakat” and the edited journal “Salil Pravah” were released by the guests. The special issue of Salil Pravah focused on the literary expressions of Shyam Palat Pandey.
In his presidential address, Prof. Ajit Kumar Karnatak emphasized that “the child within you keeps you alive”. He explained that children’s literature and songs are the finest companions of a joyful spirit. Drawing from his own journey, he narrated how his regular contributions to Sarika and Dharmyug had shaped his intellectual development and broadened his literary vision. He passionately appealed to the audience for the promotion of Hindi and Sanskrit, underlining their power to connect generations and sustain cultural heritage.
Jayanti Ranganathan, in her keynote address on “Balgeet aur Balman ka Antarsambandh”, said that today’s children must be lovingly drawn towards bal geet to free them from mobile addiction.

Each awardee received an Abhinandan Patra, shawl, uparna, cash reward, and mala-yarpan.
