PMCH Creates History in ICMR STS Scheme – Five MBBS Students Selected, Highest Performance in Rajasthan

Udaipur. Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Udaipur, has created history this year by achieving outstanding success in the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Short-Term Studentship (STS) Research Project Scheme at the national level. Among all medical colleges in Rajasthan, PMCH recorded the highest number of selections, marking a proud moment not only for the institution but also for the entire region.

Chairman of the institution, Rahul Agrawal, expressed happiness on this achievement and extended heartfelt congratulations to all the selected students and their guides. He said this success reflects the academic excellence and research strength of PMCH. He further added that in the coming years, more students would participate in research and bring greater recognition to the institution.

CEO Sharad Kothari also congratulated the selected students and their mentors, describing this success as a result of the institution’s research-oriented policies.

Dr. M.M. Mangal, President of Pacific Medical University, informed that five MBBS students were selected in this prestigious scheme. He highlighted that the selection in ICMR’s STS is highly competitive, with thousands of students applying from across the country. In such a scenario, five selections from a single college is a remarkable achievement.

Principal Dr. U.S. Parihar congratulated the selected students and their mentors, stating that this success is the outcome of a strong research culture, committed faculty, and enthusiastic students. He emphasized that PMCH is not only delivering quality medical education but is also emerging as a nationally recognized research hub.

Advisory members Dr. Neeta Sahi and Dr. B. Kumar also expressed their delight, remarking that this historic achievement will inspire future generations to participate in research. They described it as a significant step towards establishing PMCH as a leading research institution in the years ahead.

The success of students in this research project scheme was made possible by the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rohtash Yadav, Nodal In-charge of the projects from the Department of Pharmacology.
