It is with profound sorrow that I share the passing of a remarkable personality, Shri Nitish Rai Ji. I, Prof. Amarika Singh, had the privilege of working alongside him for nearly a year, during which I witnessed his qualities as an able administrator, a man of principles, a clear and straightforward thinker, and a leader who was always supportive of his colleagues.
His administrative acumen and dedication to duty were truly unparalleled. He never accepted any compromise against the values and principles of the University. His steadfastness in upholding rules and integrity was his greatest virtue. A teacher, an able administrator, a person of sharp political understanding, and one who valued relationships deeply—he embodied all these qualities in abundance.
His absence has created a void that can never be filled. His memories will always remain with us. I extend my deepest condolences and pray that God grants eternal peace to his noble soul and strength to his family in this hour of grief.
In his memory, a one-day mourning and holiday will be observed in Azamgarh, Raebareli, and Jaipur, as a humble mark of respect. We also intend to establish a dedicated Chair in his name, for which discussions will be held with his family members.
My bond with him was not only professional but also deeply personal. Both my family and Smt. Varsha Rai Ji’s family hail from Azamgarh, and this closeness had always connected us like a bond of brotherhood.
I humbly pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to all who are grieving his loss.
