Extend Sujangarh–Salasar–Khatushyamji Rail Corridor to Historic City of Bikaner: K.C. Maloo

New Delhi:Kesari Chand Maloo, Founder Trustee of Sukshem Foundation, Sujangarh, has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the Sujangarh–Salasar–Khatushyamji rail corridor. He has also urged that this rail corridor be extended to the historic city of Bikaner so that the state capital Jaipur, the Shekhawati region, and the Bikaner division can be directly connected by rail.

During a meeting with Railway Minister Vaishnaw in New Delhi, Maloo stressed that linking the corridor to Bikaner would significantly boost tourism in Rajasthan. He thanked the minister for approving the ambitious project that will connect major pilgrimage sites in the state by rail.

Maloo further informed that in Sujangarh, with the support of Non-Resident Rajasthanis, Sukshem Foundation is building a grand 300-bed multi-specialty hospital costing ₹250 crore, along with a residential complex for doctors and patients’ families (Sukshem Arogya Vihar). Upon completion, the hospital will be handed over to the state government for operations, while the foundation will maintain the cleanliness and linen management of the Arogya Vihar complex. He pointed out that extending the rail corridor to Bikaner would make it much easier for thousands of people to access high-quality medical services in Sujangarh, saving them time, effort, and money.

The central government has already ordered a survey for the construction of a 45 km new rail line between Khatushyamji, Salasar, and Sujangarh, with a financial sanction of ₹1.12 crore. This includes connecting Sujangarh to Khatushyamji via the Merta Road–Bikaner line. Additionally, a 17.49 km railway stretch between Reengus and Khatushyamji, previously approved, has been allocated a budget of ₹254.06 crore. Indian Railways has begun preparing the DPR for the new line between Khatushyamji, Salasar, and Sujangarh, with the final survey already completed.

The state government, local MPs, and other public representatives have also requested Railway Minister Vaishnaw to extend this rail route to Bikaner via Sujangarh, to ensure better connectivity from Bikaner, Delhi, Sri Ganganagar, Jodhpur, and other routes. Local leaders have also sought improved rail connectivity between Salasar and Khatushyamji to benefit the thousands of devotees visiting these religious sites daily.

It is noteworthy that during his Delhi visit, K.C. Maloo also paid courtesy calls on Union Culture & Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, “One Nation One Election” Joint Parliamentary Committee Chairman and Pali MP P.P. Chaudhary, as well as prominent NRI industrialist Narsi Kularia, who was responsible for the interior design, decor, and furnishing of the new Parliament building.
