Jaipur, A technical workshop on ‘ Modern Construction Practices & Emerging Technologies ' was conducted by Sapta Sakthi Command in collaboration with CSIR - CBRI Roorkee.The event also featured the signing of an MoU on Third Party Technical Inspection(TPTI) for defence infrastructure.
Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command addressed the august audience and emphasised upon the importance of quality infrastructure and habitat in military organisations as one of the command pillars and principles of welfare. He also highlighted the benefit of supervision of a third party and additional expertise on the quality control and satisfaction. This initiative of Sapta Shakti Command is an inter-disciplinary collaboration with Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee in pursuance of its commitment towards ensuring highest standards of quality and use of sustainable novel technologies in infrastructure development. CBRI Roorkee is a premier National Research Institute under CSIR. It was established in 1947 with a primary Vision of providing innovative solutions and technologies in building science & technology, aimed at enhancing quality and sustainability in the construction industry.
An MoU for quality control assurance was signed between Sapta Shakti Command and CBRI, Roorkee on 12 Aug 2025. The MoU duly signed by Army Commander South Westeren Command and Director CSIR-CBRI Prof R Pradeep Kumar will facilitate technical advice by CBRI during execution of infrastructure under the Sapta Shakti Command, in addition to providing Third Party Technical Inspection of on-going infrastructure development projects and conduct of Capacity Bulding Programmes in MES. A booklet on ‘Empowering You’ was also unveiled during the occasion duly laying out guidelines on essential construction services.
The one day workshop conducted by CBRI for the MES officials and all officials dealing with infrastructure development in Sapta Shakti Command,included talk by eminent scientists of CBRI on Best Practices in Construçtion and relevant new & sustainable construction technologies followed by an interactive session.
This initiative by the Sapta Shakti Command will usher-in a new beginning in adherence of quality control and adoption of new and sustainable technologies as one of its vital contributions towards a "Viksit Bharat'.
