####Service to the Suffering Equals Service to God – Gulabchand Kataria

Udaipur,  It was stated by Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulabchand Kataria that serving the suffering humanity is equivalent to serving God, and the blessings of those in distress are akin to divine grace. He emphasized that such service should always be pursued with readiness and compassion.

These remarks were made while addressing the inauguration ceremony of an ambulance at Sundarsingh Bhandari Government Hospital, Ambamata, provided under CSR by Tech Firefly Private Limited. The programme was presided over by former MLA Trilok Poorbiya, while distinguished guests included RNT Medical College Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur, Firefly founder Vikram Poorbiya, Atul Chandalya, and Rajesh Vaishnav.

Shri Kataria highlighted that Mewar is known as the land of Bhamashahs, where numerous philanthropists continue to remain committed to helping the needy. He mentioned that several developmental works and facility expansions have already been undertaken at Ambamata Hospital in the past, with the state government recently approving a budget for further improvements. Philanthropists are also actively contributing towards the hospital’s growth. He suggested to RNT Principal Dr. Mathur that Scouts, Guides, and NCC volunteers be engaged to assist patients and their attendants in navigating the hospital premises.

Earlier, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Rahul Jain, along with others, welcomed the guests. Dr. Jain provided details of the facilities and future plans, noting that the availability of the ambulance will facilitate the transfer of critical patients to Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, Udaipur. With the establishment of units from the Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesiology departments of the Medical College at this hospital, the number of OPD and admitted patients has increased, with OPD attendance now reaching approximately 1,000 patients daily. The operation theatre remains functional round the clock for emergency care, while special attention is being given to cleanliness and immediate treatment.

Dr. Jain further informed that, upon the proposal submitted by Udaipur City MLA Shri Tarachand Jain, the state budget has sanctioned ₹3.5 crore for modern equipment and ₹1.5 crore for civil works. He also requested the allocation of the vacant building of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, located in front of the hospital, for facility expansion. Shri Kataria assured that discussions would be held at the administrative level regarding this matter.

The ceremony was attended by former councillor Shankar Chandel, Lokesh Kothari, Durgesh Sharma, social worker Ranjeet Singh, Deepak Bolya, Narendra Poorbiya, ambulance donor Vikram Poorbiya’s parents Sushila Poorbiya and Dharmaraj Poorbiya, along with hospital staff and members of the public.
