Nand Ghar Project Felicitates 300 Anganwadi Workers in Udaipur

Udaipur:A district-level ‘Samman Samaroh’ under the Nand Ghar Project was organised today by the social welfare organisation Jatan Sansthan at Pratap Gaurav Kendra in Udaipur. The event, held as a heartfelt celebration of dedication and service, honoured the district’s outstanding Anganwadi workers.

As part of Vedanta’s CSR initiative, over 300 Anganwadi workers (“Didi”) were felicitated in the presence of senior state and district-level officials, recognising their significant role in rural childcare and education. Among them, 50 Anganwadi workers who demonstrated exceptional commitment to improving child nutrition, early childhood education, and women’s empowerment received special honours. By acknowledging these changemakers, the Nand Ghar initiative aims to inspire excellence and strengthen grassroots efforts to achieve health, nutrition, and early education goals through strong community ownership.

Senior representatives from the Department of Women and Child Development and the district administration attended the event. ICDS Director, Rajasthan, Vasudev Malawat, stated that the partnership with Nand Ghar is helping strengthen the Anganwadi network across Rajasthan. He noted that Udaipur has 334 Nand Ghars, while the state has over 5,000 modern centres providing quality early education and nutrition to children, along with skill development and empowerment opportunities for women.

Vedanta’s CSR Head, Anupam Nidhi, emphasised the pivotal role that Anganwadi workers play in shaping the foundation of the nation’s future. She described them as the true backbone of early childhood care, noting that their daily efforts extend far beyond routine tasks—they are caregivers, educators, counsellors, and community mobilisers, often working under challenging conditions.

She said, “Today, we are not merely handing over awards; we are celebrating the indomitable spirit, compassion, and resilience of these women. Their tireless dedication ensures that every child, regardless of their circumstances, is given a healthy and educated start in life.” She added that the commitment of Anganwadi workers directly influences the health, learning capacity, and confidence of rural children, while also empowering mothers with knowledge about nutrition and childcare practices.

Highlighting the objectives of the Nand Ghar Project, she explained that it is designed to modernise Anganwadi centres and enhance their capabilities by equipping workers with the right resources, advanced training, and innovative tools. The focus, she stressed, is not only on providing services but on creating a sustainable, community-led ecosystem where positive change continues long after interventions are made.

Anupam Nidhi concluded her address by reaffirming Vedanta’s long-term commitment to standing beside Anganwadi workers. “We believe that when you empower the grassroots, you empower the nation. Nand Ghar is our promise to ensure that these champions of change receive the respect, recognition, and support they truly deserve,” she said, drawing a warm round of applause from the audience.

Jatan Sansthan Director, Dr. Kailash Brijwasi, expressed that with departmental guidance, support from the Vedanta team, and coordination with panchayat stakeholders, the organisation has reached a significant milestone in driving change.

The Nand Ghar Samman Samaroh in Udaipur not only celebrated excellence but also reaffirmed the collective resolve to improve outcomes in nutrition, health, education, and empowerment across rural Rajasthan. Many of the honoured Anganwadi workers also addressed the gathering, sharing their experiences and commitments.
