St. Anthony’s Sr. Sec. School Shines in Chess – Three Teams Qualify for CBSE Nationals

Udaipur: Once again proving its mettle, St. Anthony’s Sr. Sec. School, Udaipur, delivered an outstanding performance in the CBSE West Zone Chess Tournament, with three teams qualifying for the Nationals.

Principal Mr. William D’Souza proudly shared that the school has been consistently excelling in chess for over 20 years, not just making Udaipur proud but also gaining state and national recognition.

🔹 Tournament Highlights:

The competition featured teams across eight categories in boys and girls divisions – Under-11, 14, 17, and 19.

👧 Girls’ Category

Among 37 participating teams in the girls’ section, St. Anthony’s girls gave a stellar performance:

  • Under-11 Girls Team – Champions & National Qualifiers
    Team Members: Veera, Kanishka, Manya, Monishka

    • Veera (Board 1), Manya (Board 3), Monishka (Board 4) received Board Prizes for individual brilliance.

  • Under-19 Girls Team – Runner-Up & National Qualifiers
    Team Members: Kinjal, Chahana, Charvi, Tanishka

  • Under-17 Girls Team – 3rd Position

  • Under-14 Girls Team – 4th Position

👦 Boys’ Category

Out of nearly 100 competing teams, St. Anthony’s boys also showcased exceptional skill:

  • Under-19 Boys Team – Runner-Up & National Qualifiers
    Team Members: Hardik Gupta, Himansh Chaubisa, Anirudh Sahu, Pratham Mali

    • Hardik Gupta (Board 1) was awarded a Board Prize for his outstanding performance.

  • Under-11 Boys Team – 6th Place

  • Under-14 Boys Team – 13th Place

  • Under-17 Boys Team – 8th Place

✅ Teams Qualified for Nationals:

  1. Under-11 Girls Team – Veera, Kanishka, Manya, Monishka

  2. Under-19 Girls Team – Kinjal, Chahana, Charvi, Tanishka

  3. Under-19 Boys Team – Hardik Gupta, Himansh Chaubisa, Anirudh Sahu, Pratham Mali

🔸 Just Missed the Nationals:

  • Under-17 Girls Team – 3rd place

  • Under-14 Girls Team – 4th place

  • Under-11 Boys Team – 6th place

This glorious achievement is a result of dedicated administrative support, the visionary leadership of Principal Mr. William D’Souza, and the tireless coaching by Mr. Vikas Sahu and Mr. Nilesh Kumawat. It also reflects the discipline, hard work, and passion of the students and the continuous support of parents.
