Memorandum Submitted to the Governor; Employees Shared Their Grievances

Udaipur. On Monday, representatives of the SFAB Employees’ Union (affiliated with Bhamas) at Mohanlal Sukhadia University submitted a memorandum to Governor Haribhau Bagde, bringing to his attention the issues and grievances faced by certain employees. The memorandum was handed over just before the Governor's departure from the university guest house, despite strict administrative monitoring and police surveillance throughout the day.

Union President Narayanlal Salvi, along with women employees Baby Gameti and Kiran Tanwar, who had earlier filed a complaint of workplace harassment at Pratapnagar Police Station, met the Governor and presented their concerns. The Governor received them in a courteous manner, accepted the memorandum, and listened to their grievances.

The Governor had two official engagements at the university — the inauguration of a new building at the Arts College and a lecture series at the guest house. In the morning, when Union President Salvi arrived at the campus, he was restricted to the corridor near the Library and Information Science Department for security reasons. Plainclothes policemen were deployed nearby to ensure that no disturbances occurred during the Governor’s visit.

After inaugurating the new building of the Visual Arts Department, the Governor proceeded to the guest house. The Union members also reached the venue but were denied entry by security personnel. Undeterred, they waited outside the guest house premises from 12 PM to 4 PM, hoping for a chance to meet the Governor.

When the Governor came out in the evening, the representatives approached and successfully handed over the memorandum. The Governor accepted it and encouraged them to share their concerns, which they did respectfully.

The memorandum highlighted certain workplace issues and behavioral concerns faced by employees, without directly naming any senior university official. It appealed to the university administration to address employee grievances with empathy and sensitivity.
