### Support Pours In for MP Dr. Rawat’s Demand: Conversion a Threat to National Identity and Security

Udaipur:Widespread support has been extended to Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat’s demand in the Lok Sabha for a national anti-conversion law. Several religious, social, and political organizations have urged the government to take urgent action, citing conversion as a threat to the country's identity and security. Representatives of the saint community even warned of mass protests on the streets if the issue is not addressed.

On Tuesday, Dr. Rawat raised the issue in Parliament, emphasizing that 16 states in India still lack any anti-conversion law, giving space for figures like 'Changur Baba' to flourish. He demanded the creation of a robust central legislation to curb religious conversions. His stance has been widely appreciated and deemed necessary in the interest of the nation.

VHP’s Rajasthan Joint Secretary Sundarlal Kataria alleged that religious conversions and "Love Jihad" are being carried out systematically across the country through organized rackets. He cited recent revelations in Vijay Nagar, Bhilwara, and said both Islamic and Christian conversions are being promoted, especially in tribal belts. He warned that this trend leads to anti-national sentiments, turning religious conversion into an act of national betrayal.

Kataria revealed that a VHP delegation recently met the Rajasthan Chief Minister, who admitted plans to introduce such a bill in the last assembly session. The CM assured that the matter would be considered again in the upcoming session. Kataria added that where conversions rise, demographic imbalance fuels separatism and terrorism.

Senior BJP leader and former Rural District President Chandragupt Singh Chauhan called Dr. Rawat’s efforts commendable and claimed that the problem is rapidly spreading in tribal areas like Mavli and Vallabhnagar. He expressed concern over reported activities in Asoliyon Ki Madadi, Mavli, where a conversion training centre is suspected to be operating under the guise of charity, exploiting the poor.

City BJP President Gajpal Singh Rathore criticized the Congress government’s apathy towards this sensitive national security issue. He noted that the BJP has been running awareness campaigns against conversion and welcomed Dr. Rawat’s strong stance in Parliament.

Bhagwan Sahay, National Joint Organizing Secretary of the Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad, also supported the demand for a central law. He stated that due to the absence of anti-conversion laws in many states, the Centre must intervene and legislate uniformly.

Mahant Indradev Das, Founder President of Sarv Sampraday Sant Sansthan, stated that lack of legislation encourages individuals like Changur Baba. He warned that the saint community is ready to take to the streets if needed and called conversion activities a national disgrace.

Kamlendra Singh, Mewar Chief of Bajrang Sena, said his organization has been actively opposing conversion for years and even managed to halt several cases. He insisted that it is high time the government implemented a nationwide ban, as this ‘disease’ threatens to hollow out the country from within.
