Udaipur, Retired Indian Forest Service officer and President of Green People Society, Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar, presented his recently published book “Aranyam”, focused on environmental themes, to Additional Chief Secretary (Forests & Environment) Mr. Anand Kumar, IAS.
On this occasion, Bhatnagar briefed ACS Kumar about the various initiatives by the Green People Society, including the Bird Festival and "Pedal-to-Jungle", all aimed at the conservation of birds and the environment.
The event was graced by senior forest officers of the state, who praised the content of “Aranyam”, describing it as a powerful confluence of nature conservation and social consciousness.
While sharing insights on the book, Bhatnagar stated that “Aranyam” is inspired by his experiences during his tenure in the Forest Department. The book not only highlights forest biodiversity, ecological balance, and cultural values but also explores the deep interconnection between humans and nature. He emphasized that the book presents issues of wildlife, conservation, and sustainable development in a factual and engaging manner.
On this occasion, Mr. Anand Kumar remarked, "‘Aranyam’ is not just a book, but a form of consciousness that inspires us to reconnect with nature and actively work for its protection. This initiative will surely give new direction to environmental discourse."
Forest officials and environmental enthusiasts present at the event also described “Aranyam” as a timely and impactful effort, stressing the need to disseminate it widely among policymakers, students, and the general public.
The event was attended by IPS officer Mr. Matharu, CCF Sunil Chindri, Seduram Yadav, Rajesh Gupta, and other district-level forest officials.
