Protest by Contract/SFS Employees Continues for Eighth Day

Udaipur : The protest by the employees working under the Self-Financed Scheme (SFS) and Contractual Advisory Board at Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) continued for the eighth consecutive day, with the demonstrators firmly standing by their five-point charter of demands.

Narayan Lal Salvi, President of the MLSU Contract/SFS Employees Union, informed that on Monday, the employees staged a symbolic protest by taking out a mock funeral procession of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra. The rally started from the university administrative block and proceeded to Pratapnagar Police Station.

The protest was sparked by the alleged misbehavior with two female SFS employees, Mrs. Kiran Tanwar and Mrs. Baby Gameti. A formal complaint was filed, demanding justice from the police for the injustice faced by the women employees. The police assured appropriate action.

The rally saw participation from around 200 students affiliated with the NSUI student union, along with senior Congress leaders.

Despite essential services being disrupted in several departments under Deans and Directors, the university administration continues to issue threatening and unjustified orders to SFS and contractual staff instead of resolving the situation. Protesters allege that the administration is tarnishing the image of the university through unconstitutional directives and narrow-minded decisions.
