Udaipur. The long-standing demand of the residents of Dangiyon Ka Guda in Gram Panchayat Lakhawali for an underpass on National Highway-27 is set to be fulfilled soon. A service road is currently under construction to connect the area to the nearest underpass, addressing the difficulties faced by villagers in crossing the highway.
The issue was raised by Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat, who had written to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, highlighting the problems being faced by the villagers. In his official response, Minister Gadkari informed Dr. Rawat that the department has already conducted a survey of the location. An underpass has been constructed about 225 meters away in the direction of Pindwara.
Considering the surrounding population, service roads are being built on both sides of the highway covering a total stretch of 5.575 kilometers. Once completed, these roads will provide direct access to the underpass located at chainage 89/175, thereby resolving the connectivity issue.
Earlier, Mohan Patel, President of the BJP Badgaon Mandal, along with other villagers, submitted a memorandum to Dr. Rawat. They stated that NH-27 passes through Dangiyon Ka Guda (Kua Ki Magri) in Tehsil Badgaon, where villagers’ agricultural lands are situated on the opposite side of the highway. This forces them to cross the busy highway daily for farming and routine work, putting their safety at risk—especially during the monsoon, when waterlogging further aggravates the problem.
The villagers had urged for a bypass or underpass, and MP Dr. Rawat took the matter seriously during a public hearing. Now, with the construction of the service road underway, their demands are finally being addressed. Once the work is completed, direct and safer access to the underpass will be ensured.
