Banswara, RajasthanA special celebration was held at the Government Higher Secondary School, Amarthoon, to mark the safe return of Indian scientist Shubhanshu Shukla from space. The event was organized under the aegis of the school’s Vigyan Club.
A Successful Return Journey
As shared by Biology Lecturer and Science Club In-charge Karu Lal Meghwal, Shubhanshu Shukla, along with his Axiom-4 team, began their return journey from the International Space Station aboard the Dragon capsule Grace at 10:05 PM on July 14.
After a 17-hour and 55-minute voyage, their capsule successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California at 3:01 PM on July 15, completing a flawless re-entry and landing. Agencies like NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX tracked the splashdown live, and no technical glitches were reported.
Post-landing Health Monitoring
As per school principal Arun Vyas, upon exiting the space capsule, the crew underwent initial medical evaluations. Shubhanshu Shukla was then shifted to a rehabilitation center, where he will remain for a few days for gravitational adaptation and health monitoring under the supervision of the SpaceX recovery team.
Expected Return to India
Shubhanshu Shukla is expected to return to India between July 18–19, and a grand felicitation ceremony is being planned by ISRO and the Government of India in his honour.

The event at Amarthoon School was attended by several staff members including Kapil Verma, Parvat Singh, Harishankar Charpota, Man Singh, Smt. Pragya Adhikari, Dilip Kumar Meena, Prabhulal Kharadi, Hitesh Kumar Ninama, Devilal, Devli Bai, Narayan Lal Ninama, Smt. Raina Ninama, Badan Lal Damor, Anoop Mehta, Khushpal Katara, Dayashankar Charpota, Mayur Padiyar, Mukesh Patel, Jeevan Lal Ninama, and Bherulal Dodiyar, along with enthusiastic students and parents.
The event was hosted by Khushpal Katara, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Kapil Verma.
