Lord Ashutosh Taken Out in Silver Palanquin on First Monday of Sawan at Mahakaleshwar Temple

Udaipur. A grand display of devotion and faith was witnessed on the first Monday of Sawan at the Mahakaleshwar Temple, as thousands of devotees gathered to offer prayers. The temple premises were packed from early morning, with devotees performing jalabhishek from outside the sanctum. Special rituals were conducted throughout the morning.

The divine procession of Lord Ashutosh, in his idol form, began at exactly 12:15 PM during the Abhijeet Muhurat, as the silver palanquin was carried out amid loud chants of "Har Har Mahadev" and "Bam Bam Bhole".

Earlier, at 11:15 AM, the idol was adorned with Ardhanarishwar attire and placed in the silver palanquin. Devotees and priests performed a special puja before the procession began. The palanquin was first brought before the sanctum of Lord Mahakaleshwar where the idol was gently swayed in devotion amid loud cheers. The procession then moved within the temple premises. It concluded at the Sabha Mandap, where bhog was offered to the Lord, followed by a special aarti.

The spiritual atmosphere was further elevated as female devotees danced in devotion to the rhythmic beats of traditional drums.

Rudrabhishek Performed by State Government
At 10 AM, a Rudrabhishek was performed under the guidance of learned priests on behalf of the Rajasthan State Government. Assistant Commissioner of the Devasthan Department, Jatin Gandhi, along with other officials and staff, took part in the ritual.
