#### 20th Grand Kawad Yatra from Gangu Kund to Ubheshwar Mahadev on 29th July

Udaipur,  A meeting of the Shiv Mahotsav Committee was held at the sacred Gangu Kund, under the leadership of Committee President Yagya Narayan Sharma, with participation from prominent social, religious, and political representatives of the city.

Sharma announced that, as per tradition, the 20th Grand Kawad Yatra will be organized on Nag Panchami, 29th July, starting from the fourth source of the Ganga, Gangu Kund, and concluding at Ubheshwar Mahadev, covering a distance of 21 kilometers. The Kawad Yatra, which began in 2006 with just 50 friends during a year of good rainfall, will this year witness the participation of over 11,000 devotees offering holy water to Lord Mahadev.

Following the main ritual, Lord Shiva will be ceremonially anointed with sacred waters from Gangotri, Yamunotri, Mana Border, Saraswati, Kailash Mansarovar, Bhagirathi, and Mandakini rivers. The committee is aiming for inclusive participation from all sections of society through a series of seven-day religious and cultural programs.

Event coordinator Ramkripa Sharma announced that the seven-day celebrations will commence on 21st July with a Jalabhishek of Rajrajeshwar Mahadev at the Gangu Kund campus, hosted by the Gangu Vikas Samiti.

On 23rd July at 3 PM, a Ganpati Abhishek with 101 kilograms of jaggery water will be performed at the Juna Ganesh Mandir on University Road by 10 esteemed priests.

On 24th July at 5:30 PM, a Bhajan-Kirtan session will take place at the Mahadev and Hanuman temples at Gangu Kund.

From 26th July, the Dharmotsav Samiti will conduct a two-day Akhand Ramayan Path at the Municipal Community Hall near Gangu Kund.

On the evening of 28th July, a grand musical Ganga Aarti will be organized at the same location by the Bajrang Sena Mewar.

Spokesperson Krishnakant Kumawat informed that the meeting witnessed enthusiastic contributions and suggestions from many eminent citizens, including social worker Vardichand Chaudhary, advocate Ramkripa Sharma, former councilor Girish Bharti, Narendra Paliwal of Vipra Foundation, Dinesh Makwana of Dharmotsav Samiti, Bhupendra Singh Bhati, advocate Mahendra Nagda, Sohan Singh Kharwad, Uday Singh Devda, Mahesh Bhawsar, Shivshankar Nagda, Man Singh Hada of Mahadev Dharmotsav Samiti, Devendra Bairwa, Naresh Vaishnav, Purushottam Parasar, Naveen Vyas, Dr. Om Sahu, Lakshmilal Sharma, Bharat Meghwal, Suresh Rawat, Nitesh Purohit, and Rani Bhatia, all of whom pledged support to ensure the success of the Kawad Yatra and encouraged widespread community involvement.
