Tributes paid and his philosophy revisited in Udaipur

Legacy of Dr. D.S. Kothari Honored on His Birth Anniversary

Udaipur, On the occasion of the 119th birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan Dr. Daulat Singh Kothari, a revered son of Mewar and one of India’s greatest scientists, members of Vigyan Samiti and the Dr. D.S. Kothari Institute paid floral tributes at his life-size statues near Fatehsagar Pal and the Biotechnology Department. A remembrance gathering was held thereafter to honor his legacy.

Dr. Surendra Pokharna and Mahendra Mehta shared details about the “Kothari-Einstein Environmental Awareness Campaign,” which was announced on Earth Day. They emphasized the urgent need to adopt the path suggested by Dr. Kothari and Albert Einstein to protect the environment and prevent a possible sixth mass extinction. This path not only relies on scientific advancement but also integrates non-violence, religion, and spirituality.

It was highlighted that due to the foundations laid by Dr. Kothari in establishing and advancing the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India is rapidly moving toward self-reliance in the defense sector. A testament to this was seen during Operation Sindoor, where indigenously developed arms and ammunition played a crucial role in defeating Pakistan. His vision of integrating science with non-violence is more relevant today than ever before.

Media coordinator Professor Vimal Sharma informed that the event was attended by family members of Dr. Kothari including Bhupal Singh Kothari, Prakash Kothari, Pradeep Kothari, and Paritosh Kothari, along with Dr. Kamal Prakash Talesra, Dr. Maheep Bhatnagar, Dr. Surendra Singh Pokharna, Shanti Lal Bhandari, Dr. Karan Lal Totawat, Rajendra Kumar Khokhawat, Arun Kumar Agrawal, Jitendra Mehta, Mahendra Kumar Mehta, Devendra Salvi, and Vijay.
