Hands Eager to Support the Spirit of Traditions

Inner Wheel Club’s “Rajmati Adarsh Sas Shromani” Award Ceremony on July 11

Udaipur: The upcoming “Rajmati Adarsh Sas Shromani” award ceremony, organized by the Inner Wheel Club, is receiving heartfelt support from people across all walks of life. While some are contributing silver photo frames for the honored mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duos, others are providing dinner vouchers. Additional contributions include traditional sarees and complimentary dental check-ups. Each supporter believes in promoting the values embedded in this unique tradition, and their encouragement is helping amplify its impact.

Founder Coordinator Maya Kumbhat shared that the Rajmati Adarsh Sas Shromani Award for the year 2024–25 will again be presented by the Inner Wheel Club, which has proudly hosted this ceremony for the last 25 years. The initiative aims to encourage harmonious relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, and to honor women who have not only shaped their families with wisdom but have also embraced their daughters-in-law with motherly affection. This year’s ceremony will be held on July 11 at Rotary Bajaj Bhavan.

Kumbhat informed that for the 2024–25 session, the jury has selected 95-year-old Dhapu Devi Pagaria and her 67-year-old daughter-in-law Sunita for the prestigious title of “Inner Wheel Rajmati Adarsh Sas Shromani.” They will be honored with a cash prize of ₹11,000, sponsored by the Vijaymal-Rajmati Charitable Trust.

Additionally, four other mothers-in-law will be presented with the “Adarsh Sas Samman”. These include:

Lakshmi Devi Nahata with her daughters-in-law Jyoti and Chetna Nahata

Urmila Bohra with her daughter-in-law Seema Bohra

Ratan Paliwal with her daughter-in-law Pooja Paliwal

Shanta Devi Bafna with her daughter-in-law Anupama Bafna

Kumbhat mentioned that upon reaching out to socially conscious entrepreneurs, the club was overwhelmed by their spontaneous and generous response. It felt as though these individuals had been waiting for such an uplifting cause to contribute to.

Club President Chandrakala Kothari expressed gratitude for the valuable support received. Mohan Manwani of Alankar Jewellers announced a gold pendant for the main awardee, while Rakesh Jain of Roopshree Sarees pledged sarees. Radheshyam Soni of Shubhlaxmi Jewellers offered silver photo frames, and Upesh Jain Malasiya of Priyanka Plastic and Vinod Jain of Kitchen King pledged gift hampers. Dr. Sumer Meena of the Dental Specialist Centre, Ashok Nagar, generously extended free dental check-ups for all awardees.

Moreover, Ashok Jain Dosi of Little Italy Restaurant has sponsored dinner coupons—six for the Rajmati Adarsh Sas Shromani’s family and two each for the other awardees.

Kothari added that contributors were deeply moved after learning about the mission behind the initiative. They realized it wasn’t just an award function—it was a movement to revive intergenerational bonds of trust, respect, and shared living. When a mother-in-law becomes like a mother and a daughter-in-law like a daughter, the home becomes a sanctuary of love and togetherness. To preserve and honor these values, supporters have pledged to continue their association with the cause.
