Udaipur,In celebration of the United Nations declaring the year 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives, Rajasthan’s Cooperative Department is actively proving its significance across diverse sectors under the theme “Prosperity through Cooperation.” In this context, a major initiative was launched in Udaipur to support tourism and offer reliable transport solutions to visitors and residents. The state’s first bike-on-rent service under a cooperative model, named Co-op Ride, was officially inaugurated.
The service was launched by Cooperation Minister Mr. Gautam Kumar Dak on Saturday at Sector 14, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the cooperative sector of Rajasthan. The Co-op Ride service will offer affordable and accessible two-wheeler rentals for the public, especially benefiting youth, students, tourists, and daily commuters.
During the inauguration, Minister Dak emphasized that the new service would serve as an economical transport alternative for citizens and visitors alike. He added that this innovation reflects the potential of cooperative models in meeting public utility needs.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests including District Head Mrs. Mamta Kunwar, Deputy District Head Pushkar Teli, social workers Pramod Samar, Gajpal Singh Rathore, Takhat Singh Shaktawat, Bhawar Singh, Sagar Soni, Amritlal Menaria, and others. Also present were Kiran Jain, Chairperson of Udaipur Women’s Prosperity Urban Cooperative Bank, Dan Chand Dangi, Chairman of the Udaipur Dairy Cooperative, Councilor Santosh Menaria, and many other local representatives.
On this occasion, Minister Dak also participated in the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign by planting a sapling.
Inauguration of Cooperative Supermarket
In another development, Minister Dak also inaugurated a newly constructed Cooperative Supermarket by Udaipur Sahkari Upbhokta Thok Bhandar Limited in Sector 14.
He stated that the main goal of the consumer warehouse is to provide quality food items at reasonable prices to the general public. Through newly established cooperative supermarkets in various localities, this objective is being actively pursued by the Udaipur Bhandar.
Administrator and Additional Registrar Mrs. Gunjan Chaube welcomed the guests and outlined various facilities and schemes currently offered to consumers. General Manager Dr. Pramod Kumar informed that the new supermarket is aimed at delivering quality goods at fair prices. He also mentioned that a special counter has been set up for millet-based food items in line with the state government’s budget announcement.
