#### A Mission of Humanity: Senior Physician Dr. Sunil Dutt Sharma Recognized for His Selfless Service and Ethical Practice

In today’s world, where medical practice is increasingly driven by commercial interests, a few names still shine as symbols of honesty, compassion, and true service. One such name is that of Senior Physician Dr. Sunil Dutt Sharma, who is widely known across Kota and beyond for his ethical medical practice, low consultation fees, and dedication to patient care without commissions or kickbacks.

Chosen as ‘Best Doctor’ by the People, Not Posters

Patients who have received treatment from Dr. Sharma, especially from areas like Bhimganj Mandi, Railway Colony, and even from outside Kota, unanimously consider him the “best doctor”—not by votes or advertising, but by experience.

After retiring from Satellite Hospital, Rampura, Dr. Sharma continues to serve patients from his clinic located near the Consumer Wholesale Depot, Station Road, Kota Junction. He sees patients every evening from 6 PM to 10 PM and briefly in the mornings from 10 AM to 11 AM.

His wife, Dr. Meenu Korpal, a renowned gynecologist and former MS at Bhimganj Mandi CHC, also joins him in this mission, treating patients at the same clinic.

Medicine as Service, Not Business

Dr. Sharma charges significantly less than his peers—initially ₹200, now a modest ₹250—despite being a senior MD (Medicine). What truly sets him apart is his firm stand against prescribing expensive, commission-based medicines. Instead, he opts for effective, affordable drugs available at any medical store, keeping patient welfare his topmost priority.

“The goal of treatment is not profit, but relief,” he often says.

Honesty, Empathy, and Simplicity

Dr. Sharma treats not only through medicine but through his humble and empathetic interaction with patients. He listens intently, avoids unnecessary tests, and ensures patients leave informed and reassured—not confused or burdened.

A Lifelong Commitment

Born in 1957 into a modest family near Kota Junction, Dr. Sharma inherited the values of honesty and service from his father, a railway employee, and his devout mother. A brilliant student from the beginning, he completed his MBBS and MD (Medicine) from RNT Medical College, Udaipur.

His first posting as a government doctor was in Shahabad, an underdeveloped tribal area in Baran district. Despite the lack of roads or facilities, Dr. Sharma served with dedication, building lifelong bonds with the people there. Even today, he organizes free health camps in Shahabad and Mamoni villages.

For decades, he worked as the Senior Physician and In-charge at Satellite Hospital, Rampura, and earned continuous appreciation with an unblemished record. He was also honored by the Rajasthan Government for his distinguished service.

A Life Shaped by Values and Mentors

Dr. Sharma draws inspiration from many noble figures, including former Union Minister Bhuwanesh Chaturvedi and RBSE Chairman Pushpkant Dalal, and eminent doctors like Dr. R.M. Singhvi, Dr. S.K. Goyal, Dr. K.K. Parikh, and Dr. Arun Bardia.

He remains unaffected by pressure or favoritism. Patients are seen based on turn, not status. Free samples from pharma reps are strictly reserved for needy patients, not acquaintances.

A Family in Service

Married to Dr. Meenu Korpal, the couple share a common purpose—bringing compassionate, affordable healthcare to all. She has been his steadfast partner in every phase of life, including times of hardship and success.

Continued Community Service

Even post-retirement, Dr. Sharma serves at Shri Ram Charitable Hospital near Kota Junction and contributes to adult education and social health camps, exemplifying a rare spirit of continued community engagement.

A Legacy to Inspire

For over 45 years, Dr. Sunil Dutt Sharma has selflessly served the neglected and impoverished. His story is not just a tribute to one man’s dedication but a call to all—especially future doctors—to embrace their responsibilities towards society.

“This country is ours—not just for rights, but for duties too. A healthier, more just society begins not with blame, but with action.”

Let his life be a guiding light for those who wish to heal not just bodies, but lives.
