Demands Transfers and Promotions for Third Grade Physical Education Teachers

### Physical Education Association Submits Memorandum to Chief Minister

Udaipur: In a concerted move to address long-pending issues, a delegation of the Physical Education Teachers Association, led by State President Hapooram Chaudhary, submitted a 9-point charter of demands to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, concerning the transfer of third-grade teachers and promotions of physical education instructors.

According to State General Secretary Dr. Bheru Singh Rathore, no transfers have been conducted for third-grade teachers for the past seven years, citing a transfer policy that is yet to be finalized. He also highlighted that promotions for physical education teachers are highly disproportionate. Alarming instances were cited, such as third-grade physical education teachers appointed in 1995–96 receiving promotions to second grade only after nearly 30 years, in 2024.

The association emphasized the following key demands:

Proportional promotions for physical education teachers.

Allocation of Lecturer (Physical Education) and third-grade Physical Education Teacher posts in schools with two or more faculty members.

Placement of a Physical Education Teacher as the second key post in every upper primary school, following the principal.

Provision of free textbooks for Classes 6 to 10.

Approval of the post of Lecturer (Physical Education) as Sports Coordinator in every Block Education Officer’s office.

Approval of Lecturer (Physical Education) positions in PM SHRI Schools.

Enactment of a “Right to Play” law to ensure holistic development of students.

Renaming the Deputy District Education Officer (Physical Education) to Additional District Education Officer (Physical Education).

Creation of ADEO (Physical Education) posts in the Elementary Education Department.

Appointment of third-grade physical education teachers in English medium schools.

The delegation expressed hope that the government will take prompt action on these long-standing issues affecting thousands of educators and students across Rajasthan.
