Mallakhamb performance mesmerized the audience; Over 2000 participants took part

Grand Yoga Camp Held at Fatehsagar

Udaipur, A grand Yoga camp was organized on the scenic banks of Fatehsagar Lake on the occasion of International Yoga Day, with Padma Shri Uday Deshpande as the chief guest. The event, held on Saturday morning, witnessed the participation of around 2,000 individuals from various institutions and organizations across the city.

As informed by Furkan Khan, Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, the event was organized under the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the Udaipur District Administration, Udaipur Development Authority, and AYUSH Department.

The morning began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a spectacular Mallakhamb demonstration led by Padma Shri Uday Deshpande and his team. The performance highlighted the strength and discipline inherent in Indian traditions and left the audience spellbound. This was followed by the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address on Yoga Day.

A collective yoga session was then conducted under the guidance of Chief Yoga Trainer Kiran Soni, along with Purwa Maan, Monika Dhasora, Pooja Sharma, and Jayshree, engaging the massive crowd in synchronized yoga practices.

As a mark of appreciation, Padma Shri Uday Deshpande and international kayaking player Pratiti Vyas were felicitated for their exceptional contributions.

The program was ably hosted by Rajendra Sen. Notable attendees included Pawan Amarawat (Deputy Director, Programmes), Durgesh Chandwani (Assistant Director, Finance & Accounts), C.L. Salvi, Hemant Mehta, Rakesh Mehta, Bhupendra Singh Kothari, Dinesh Bapna, B.L. Nalwaya, and Siddhant Bhatnagar. Dignitaries like Kamal Nahta, Bhupesh Khamesra, and Prakash Kothari were also present.

The event saw active participation from numerous organizations such as Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Shri Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Sabha, Oswal Sabha Udaipur, Sanatan Dharma Seva Samiti, CCRT, NYK, Terapanth Mahila Mandal, Terapanth Kishore Mandal, Terapanth Professional Forum, Anuvrat Samiti, Mahavir Swadhyay Mandal Sundarwas, Mahavir Navyuvak Mandal Sundarwas, Adarsh Mahila Swadhyay Mandal Sundarwas, Jain Social Group Kutumb, Consumer Protection Organization, Bharat Vikas Parishad Subhash, and Trivedi Mewara Brahmin Samaj, among others.

Students from Vidya Bhawan Senior Secondary School, Fatehpura, St. Anthony’s School, Balicha, and various other schools and colleges also participated. Folk artists from Shilpgram, craftsmen, and performers from the Dhrohar program at Bagore ki Haveli, along with many local citizens, lent their enthusiastic presence, making the event a true celebration of health, culture, and community spirit.
