### Hindustan Zinc’s Efforts in Rural Education are Exemplary – Alok Ranjan

Chittorgarh, Hindustan Zinc's consistent efforts in strengthening education in rural areas were lauded as exemplary by District Collector Alok Ranjan, who graced the concluding ceremony of the Shiksha Sambal Summer Camp as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the visible improvement in academic results due to the activities conducted under the programme and emphasized that true success comes from hard work and dedication, not merely from the medium of education or the type of school attended.

Ranjan added that the Shiksha Sambal initiative is playing a vital role in enhancing both personality and academic development among students. He encouraged children to embrace challenges and persist despite limited resources, urging them to stay away from mobile distractions, conserve water, avoid plastic, and cultivate a thirst for continuous learning.

The summer camp was conducted at Government Senior Secondary Schools in Dangla ka Kheda, Kanthariya, and Ajolia ka Kheda under the rural development initiatives of Hindustan Zinc's Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter. Over 200 students from nearby villages participated in the camp, which aimed at enhancing the academic preparedness of students transitioning into secondary classes.

The concluding ceremony was held at the Zinc Nagar Executive Club. Present on the occasion were Hindustan Zinc’s Deputy Smelter Head and Chanderiya Smelter Location Head Manas Tyagi, Chittorgarh Pradhan Devendra Kanwar Bhati, Sarpanchs Ranjit Singh Bhati (Dhanet Kalan) and Mahipal Singh (Putholi), CDEO Mahavir Sharma, DPC Pramod Dadhora, Leela Chaturvedi, Programme Coordinator Nafis Ahmed, Principal Rajendra Dadhora, CSR Head Sundarraj, and Ashish Choradiya from Vidya Bhavan Society.

Manas Tyagi detailed the various ongoing initiatives under the Shiksha Sambal programme and motivated students to work hard, stay curious, maintain a positive attitude, and be disciplined in their approach.

The ceremony featured cultural performances and experience-sharing by students. Participants were felicitated with certificates and mementoes for their attendance and outstanding performances.

The camp focused on holistic development through academic coaching in Science, Mathematics, and English, as well as exposure to sports, physical training, cultural, and intellectual activities. About 209 students from Class 9 and 10 of 17 government schools benefitted from this initiative. New additions this year included digital classrooms, audiovisual content, and hands-on learning.

Conducted jointly by Hindustan Zinc and Vidya Bhavan Society, the month-long camp also included a residential component in Udaipur, where over 80 students participated. Employees of Hindustan Zinc actively volunteered to take classes and shared knowledge on academic subjects, games, and cultural activities.

This unique initiative continues to uplift rural talent and bridge educational gaps, embodying Hindustan Zinc’s strong commitment to community development through quality education.
