Udaipur, A one-day National Seminar on the Role of Quantum Computing in the Present Era was organized by the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from scientists, academicians, and students from across the country.
Presiding over the seminar, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Col. S.S. Sarangdevot stated that quantum computing is a rapidly emerging field of science that harnesses the principles of quantum mechanics. He emphasized that it is a multidisciplinary area integrating physics, mathematics, and computer science. Highlighting its vast potential, he noted that quantum computing could revolutionize domains such as cybersecurity, cybercrime prevention, pharmaceutical innovation, and financial problem-solving. He also shared details about the initiatives and programs launched by the government to promote quantum technology in India.
At the inaugural session, Director Dr. Sapna Shrimali welcomed the guests and outlined the objectives and schedule of the seminar.
Chancellor Bhanwar Lal Gurjar and Managing Director of Bhupal Nobles Institute, Mohabbat Singh Rupakhedi, also addressed the gathering and shared their thoughts on the subject.
The seminar's chief guest, Dr. Lakshmi Raman, Senior Scientist at ISRO, Sriharikota, elaborated on various aspects of physics and motivated students to pursue a career in physical sciences to contribute to national progress.
Keynote speaker Dr. Prithvi Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Singhania University, explained the fundamental differences between classical and quantum computing. Using examples, he illustrated how quantum computing functions and discussed its practical applications. He mentioned that leading tech giants like Intel and IBM are already utilizing this technology for high-speed processes.
Invited speaker Dr. Jagdish Chandra Vyas, Senior Scientist and Seismologist, delivered an insightful session on seismic waves and seismology, offering a comprehensive and engaging explanation of the subject.
The seminar was also graced by the presence of faculty members including Dr. Mangal Shri Dulawat, Dr. Bhavesh Joshi, Dr. Uttam Sharma, Dr. Pooja Joshi, Dr. Khushboo Jain, Dr. Lokesh Suthar, Lalima Sharma, Shaktika Chaudhary, Dr. Himani Verma, and many other researchers and students.
