Udaipur to Celebrate International Yoga Day at 14 Key Locations with 62 Instructors

Udaipur,  As preparations for the grand celebration of International Yoga Day on June 21 gear up, Udaipur is all set to transform into a Yoga City. A total of 62 trained yoga instructors will lead sessions across 14 prime locations including Gandhi Ground and major tourist spots.

In a public awareness initiative leading up to the day, a mass rehearsal of the Common Yoga Protocol was organized along the banks of Fatehsagar Lake. Participants included officials from the district administration, AYUSH Department, Bharatiya Yogini Sangh, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, other NGOs, and NCC cadets under the leadership of Lt. Prem Shankar Shrimali, Sgt. Jai Veer Singh, and Vikram Singh. A large number of yoga enthusiasts, students, and general public participated, practicing pranayama, asanas, and meditation under expert supervision.

In a special event, Aqua Yoga was conducted at Khel Gaon Swimming Complex under the guidance of Dr. Mahesh Paliwal. Demonstrations of various yoga postures were performed in water, which experts say is beneficial for conditions like obesity and stress. Aqua yoga, by reducing joint pressure and enhancing body flexibility, is emerging as a refreshing and effective practice for modern lifestyles.

District Collector has appealed to all citizens to participate actively, stating, “Every citizen should ensure their presence in the grand celebration of Yoga Day. Maximum participation on June 21 will make the event truly successful.”

Dr. Rajeev Bhatt, Nodal Officer and Deputy Director of the Ayurveda Department, emphasized, “Yoga is not just a physical activity but a way of life. Today’s rehearsal clearly reflects the growing enthusiasm for yoga in society.”

Dr. Shobhalal Audichya, Assistant Nodal Officer, stated, “Yoga practice sessions are being held across 14 sites in the district with 62 instructors to prepare the public ahead of the main celebration on June 21. The energy and participation level among the public is commendable.”

As per the organizing committee, the final rehearsal of the Yoga Protocol will be held on June 20 at Gandhi Ground, marking the final phase of preparations for the main event.
