##### A Grand Celebration of 450th Anniversary of Haldighati Victory Begins Today


The 450th anniversary celebrations of the historic Battle of Haldighati will commence on June 18 under the auspices of the Pratap Gaurav Kendra Rashtriya Tirth. The grand initiative, titled Haldighati Vijay Sardh Chaturshati Samaroh, will witness year-long programs across the nation, beginning with a ‘Rashtra Chetna Yagya’ on the revered soil of Haldighati.

Reviving National Pride and Valor
Chairman of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Samiti, Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Sharma, informed that the event is being organized to commemorate the valiant battle of 1576. It is not merely a historical remembrance but a national campaign to ignite the spirit of independence, sacrifice, and patriotism. The celebrations are envisioned to instill pride and awareness among the younger generation about India’s glorious past.

Rashtra Chetna Yagya at Haldighati
Executive member Chandragupt Singh Chauhan shared that the yagya will commence at 8:00 am, with Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat as the chief yajman. He will be joined by other distinguished yajmans including Udaylal Lohar, Tansukh Soni, Himmat Singh, Banshilal Khatik, Sanjay Kawadia, Narayan Gameti, Ajay Tiwari, Deepak Sharma, Shambhu Gameti, and Rajkumar Fattawat. The yagya will conclude with purnahuti at 12:15 pm, followed by addresses and community meal.

Victory Message Procession through the City
According to CA Mahaveer Chaplot, convener of the celebrations, a grand Vijay Sandesh Yatra will begin at 1:30 pm from Haldighati and enter Udaipur through Amberi at 4:00 pm. The procession will feature a tableau of Lord Eklingnath, sacred Haldighati soil, and a victory flag. The route includes major city landmarks with scheduled receptions at Bhuwana, RK Circle, Fatehpura, Sukhadia Circle, Meera Girls College, Shastri Circle, B.N. Institute, Udaipole, Jagdish Chowk (where a grand aarti and fireworks will take place), and will conclude at Pratap Gaurav Kendra at 8:15 pm.

Special Concessions and Cultural Attractions
Anurag Saxena, Director of the Pratap Gaurav Kendra, announced that from June 18 to 25, the entry fee will be reduced to ₹50 for all visitors. The evening Water Laser Show – Mewar Ki Shauryagatha will also be priced at ₹50 during this period.

Art and Script Workshops
The first phase will also host a painting workshop in collaboration with the West Zone Cultural Centre and Sanskar Bharati, where 25 artists will depict Mewari style paintings themed on Maharana Pratap’s life and valor.
Simultaneously, a seven-day workshop on Ancient Indian Scripts, focusing on Brahmi and its evolutions, will be organized with ICHR and Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, where participants will also learn to read Ashokan inscriptions.

Pan-India Outreach and Year-long Activities
General Secretary Pawan Sharma stated that a year-long schedule of seminars is planned with support from Sabhyata Adhyayan Kendra, New Delhi, to take the narrative of Haldighati to every state and district. Schools and colleges will host extracurricular competitions like painting, rangoli, elocution, and extempore to embed Maharana Pratap’s ideals among the youth.
The annual Diwer Vijay Mahotsav will also be part of these celebrations. The grand finale is scheduled for June 18, 2026.
