ISKCON Banswara Emphasizes Peace Through Devotion and Inner Awakening

Spiritual Solutions to War: Insights from the Bhagavad Gita

Banswara, 18 June 2025 – Amid growing global tensions and the looming threat of war between nations, ISKCON Banswara offered a unique spiritual perspective on the roots and resolutions of conflict during a religious discourse held at its Subhash Nagar center.

Addressing the gathering, Acharya Abhay Gaurang Das Prabhu stated that while war has long been a painful part of human history—bringing destruction on material, emotional, and social levels—the Bhagavad Gita teaches us to view it through a spiritual lens.

Quoting the Gita verse "Kaam esha krodh esha rajoguna samudbhavah", he explained that desire and anger, born of passion (rajogun), are the true causes of conflict. According to him, war is not merely an external battle, but a manifestation of inner unrest, ignorance, and detachment from one’s divine self, which is rooted in love, compassion, and unity.

He emphasized that when individuals or groups are consumed by ego, greed, hatred, and fear, this negativity transforms into outer conflict, leading to war. The Gita's spiritual path—Jnana, Karma, and Bhakti Yoga—guides individuals to live in harmony, where peace begins from within.

Acharya Abhinandan Nimai Prabhu, delivering a parallel discourse, highlighted that meditation, prayer, and self-reflection are powerful tools for cultivating inner peace. “When the heart is filled with love and surrender, and we establish peace within, it naturally spreads to society and the world,” he said.

He added that Bhakti towards Lord Krishna, rooted in devotion and humility, lays the foundation for global harmony, transforming conflict into connection.

Universal Message of Peace

The event also echoed the sentiment that all religions uphold the principle of unity—be it Vedanta’s “Sarvam Vishvamayam” or Buddhism’s message of compassion and love. To truly end wars, education, dialogue, and spiritual awakening must become central to human life.

“The true victory,” the speakers concluded, “is not one that conquers land but wins over the heart. The path to world peace begins from within.”

Bhajan and Tribute Ceremony

The spiritual gathering featured soul-stirring sankirtan and bhajan led by devotees including Vishwatma Das, Neeraj Pathak, Rachna Vyas, Ajay, Raunak, Kushal, Dimple, Sunil, Suresh, Naimish, Nikhil, Kripali Bhatt, Himani Pathak, Arshi Bhatt, Manas Pandya, Shabuni Mandal, Oendrila Mandal, Khushi Trivedi, Meena Kunwar Rao, Ratan Maida, Sheela Joshi, Kanta Rawal, Chandrakanta Vaishnav, Kishore Pandya, Arun, Kalp Bhatt, Himani Pathak, Achintya Drishti and others.

Tribute to Ahmedabad Plane Crash Victims

Towards the end, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the souls who lost their lives in the recent Ahmedabad plane crash. A special Aarti and Harinam Sankirtan was performed at the ISKCON center, praying for peace to the departed souls and strength to the grieving families. The ceremony concluded with chanting of the Maha Mantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare.
