Advanced Techniques in Oilseed Cultivation Promoted

Udaipur,  A one-day farmer training and input distribution program was organized under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Oilseeds (Frontline Demonstration) at Jhadol, conducted by the Directorate of Research, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology. The program aimed to promote crop diversification by encouraging the inclusion of oilseed crops, thereby enhancing farmers' income and ensuring agricultural sustainability.

Dr. Hari Singh, Project In-Charge, delivered the welcome address and presented a brief overview of the project. He emphasized the significance of oilseed crops in enriching farming systems and discussed strategies to increase farmers' income through their cultivation.

Dr. N.L. Meena, Professor of Agricultural Sciences, conducted a lecture on disease management in oilseed crops. He educated farmers about common diseases affecting these crops, their symptoms, impact, and effective management practices.

Dr. Narendra Yadav delivered a session on sustainable agriculture through oilseed-based farming systems. He highlighted the advantages of integrating oilseeds into crop cycles, such as improved soil health, efficient resource use, and economic upliftment.

The training session witnessed participation from 30 farmers from Jhadol and Phalasiya regions. At the conclusion of the program, soybean seeds were distributed to all the participating farmers.
