Ashes of Longing
A fire keeps smoldering deep in my chest,
A longing unspoken, a soul unpossessed.
My arms stretch wide to the mirage of grace,
But thirst is a shadow I cannot arrest.
I seek out peace in the heart of a storm,
Yet silence escapes me, a constant guest.
I scale the stars with a mortal frame,
Each triumph dissolves when put to the test.
I build with dust, a kingdom in air—
Then winds arrive;
